Bond is a thug in the original books. I prefer Sean Connery because he was the Bond I grew up with, but DC is the best of the rest.
Bond wasn't a thug in any of the books I've read, well not in my view. So please cease your opposition to my views that he was a suave, sophisticated, educated, erudite, well-dressed man of mystery.

    Just like me.

Watched Unbroken last night, not great but was a good true story, the actors were all a bit too good looking though, made the US Army in WW2 look a bit Calvin Klein

Tucker and Dale vs Evil.Turns the whole hillbilly psycho scenario on its head with a few decent laughs along the way.Quite enjoyable but runs out of steam very quickly.

Wolf of Wall Street. Some really good bits, quite a lot of padding and a bit too long though. Quite enjoyed it overall.

Had a bit of a film frenzy lately
American Sniper...bloody s**t of the highest order
Theory of Everything...just amazing, if there was any justice it would sweep the Oscars
    Interstellar,,,,,just....Why ?
The Imitation Game.....one film where you don't actually want to kill Keira Knightley with blunt scissors v good indeed
Birdman....You have to concentrate v closely surprisingly enough, lots of long pan and follow shots, beautifully crafted and a great cast

  • Rewatched Sexy Beast and would recommend it just to see Ben Kingsley playing Don Logan - in what is maybe one of the greatest portrayals of an absolute nutter.

Real Steel, basically Rocky meets that toy where you had the 2 robots fighting. Despite it's obvious flaws and limitations it was surprising well done and good fun.

Oh, and Eagle Eye with shia labeef. Again, surprisingly well done (I think my standards must be slipping as I age).

I've said this before I know, but I think Ian McShane's portrayal of a cold, manipulative psychopath is even greater - more subtle but actually even more scary. It's Ray Winstone's best performance too. Probably the best British gangster film ever.

    Aye, bloody awful.

To be fair to the director though, the book was even worse.

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

I always thought the bible, especially the OT, had a lot of potential. Get a decent writer in there, tighten it all up a bit, modernise the language and you're onto a winner I reckon. You've got sex, incest, infanticide, mass murder, multiple apocalypses and zombies, what's not to like.

Watched "Chronicle" last night . Refreshing alternative take on the the superpowers theme. First 20 minutes is a bit dull but stick with it!
