Terrible actress, but… does it matter? ;)

I've got a very odd album which is her singing a lot of Tom Waits covers. She can't sing either, but it's strangely compelling too :).

Just googled that and it's not allowed to be broadcast in Northern Ireland because of Northern Irish libel laws.  I'm gonna have to see it now.
the scientologists are taking over northern ireland!
i havent gotten around to watching this other one yet

Incidently, Leah Remini (the lady on the screen cap of that video before you start playing it) and her Husband left the Church of Scientology and are now forbidden to speak to anyone within the 'religion' as they are now considered outcasts.

(I know this because she has a show on TLC that my wife watches and I er...happened to be in the room at the same time).

Avengers: Age of Ultron, bloody brillliant. No need for exposition, the characters really get fleshed out. I'm glad I avoided any trailers.

I think films should follow their own internal logic. They don't have to be realistic or based on fact they just have to follow their own internal logic. Bladerunner is an example, I think, which is why you can have conversations about it, you just need to extrapolate from the version of logic and reality as it exists in the film. In Lucy it contradicted itself at so many points you were constantly taken out of the film and it made it difficult to follow. Some elements I quite liked but it didn't work. In a film largely based in China with a lot of Chinese actors it lacked one sympathetic Chinese character ( accompanied by a cartoon English baddy) so if someone found it to be racist I wouldn't disagree. Given the cost of making a film I just find it suprising that no one seems to have read through and altered all the issues with the script.

Wreck it Ralph. Pretty dull TBH.

Barbarella. The film that gave us the name of a nightclub in Birmingham and the band that played there. Lots of great moments but it's an effort to watch the whole thing. Being remade as a series for Amazon TV apparently.
