I thought Lucy was shit. I think Scarlett Johansson is a shit actress too.

Where's this doc to be found anyhoo?
I think films should follow their own internal logic. They don't have to be realistic or based on fact they just have to follow their own internal logic. Bladerunner is an example, I think, which is why you can have conversations about it, you just need to extrapolate from the version of logic and reality as it exists in the film. In Lucy it contradicted itself at so many points you were constantly taken out of the film and it made it difficult to follow. Some elements I quite liked but it didn't work. In a film largely based in China with a lot of Chinese actors it lacked one sympathetic Chinese character ( accompanied by a cartoon English baddy) so if someone found it to be racist I wouldn't disagree. Given the cost of making a film I just find it suprising that no one seems to have read through and altered all the issues with the script.
Barbarella. The film that gave us the name of a nightclub in Birmingham and the band that played there. Lots of great moments but it's an effort to watch the whole thing. Being remade as a series for Amazon TV apparently.
