I've never seen the Blues Brothers.

If that's the case how on earth did the Modmins approve your account?
I bribed them with Jaffa Cakes and promises of rough sex.

Saw a few films on the plane going to Americky. Interstellar was easily the best, it reminded me of 2001, in a good way. Also watched Guardians of the Galaxy, Gone Girl and for some unfathomable reason Dumb and Dumber 2, which was total shit and presumably written by a 14 year old.

The Hundred Foot Journey - Michelin starred restaurant gets all unnecessary when an Indian restaurant opens across the roas. OK but not all that really 5/10.

Woman in Gold - About the efforts to reclaim a painting (Klimt's Woman in Gold) stolen by the Nazis. 7/10.

Montage of heck, a new docufilm about Kurt Cobain. It's a completely unfiltered look at his life using home movies, home demos and his drawings and lists from the family archives.

Highly recommended whever your a Nirvana fan of not

I thought it was a bit poor. Rather ridiculous and overdone, but I remember the books fairly well and they were quite different.

Peter Capaldi was rather wasted in that part too. The best laugh was Julie Walters with a blowlamp...

I've never read the books, so nothing to compare the film against. Had several laugh out loud moments though.

    Avengers Age Of Ultron

Whole family outing, wife and 2 kids.
Honestly it's way too long, 2hrs 20 minutes just felt like it was being stretched out in parts, probably for the inevitable future films set up involving new characters. Scarlet Witch was the most interesting, but I'm getting the feeling that Marvel films are slipping down mine and the kids pecking order. On the whole, not bad but for a packed cinema on a Sunday there were few collective laughs, ooohs or aaahs. Expectedly overhyped but fell quite short for me.

    Montage Of Heck

Kurt Cobain documentary. Revealed very little other than what you would guess at already, Kurt was a bit of an oddball at times and a heroin junkie. How Dave Grohl was omitted is up for debate, Courtney Love kept him out, interview was too late to make the cut etc. I think if you make a film over the course of 2 years and fail to get someone who was 1 person out of a 3 person band interviewed then it's most likely on purpose.

2hrs 25 minutes long, high ratings on all the review sites but I think that's down to it being "official" and not wanting to spoil what it essentially is, a scrapbook of stuff for his daughter to figure out stuff about her dad. Big Nirvana fan but wouldn't bother watching it again
    Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.....

The weekend of many shite films continued with Godzilla. Just awful on many levels. I really do need to find something grown up to watch.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - very good nicely British comedy

Pompeii - that Jon Snow bloke gets everywhere

Dracula Untold - not as bad as expected

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 - as bad as expected

Into the Woods - far too much singing

    Interstellar - great

God, no wonder I don't watch many films. Edge of Tomorrow. Quite interesting but then we had to have an endless battle scene during which I got bored.

    The Bloodsucker Leads The Dance

An extremely boring 1970s Italian gothic horror/murder mystery, quite a lot of nudity (and no bloodsucking or dancing whatsoever) but it really didn't help.  On Redemption video, for anyone familiar with that label.... you know what to expect.

Watched Montage of Heck, good but nothing new other than a good picture of what a fucked up pair of smackheads they were, As shallow as it is to say, Courtney Love was an absolute minger of a woman, of all the women in all the world.....

Watched Kingsman last night, great fun.

Devil's Knot. V sad really, based on true story and still ongoing it seems.

Firth's jolly good in it too.

Black Sea (2014 - Jude Law).  Utter shite.  So shite in fact, that I just signed up to Rotten Tomatoes just so that I could leave this review:-

Laughably bad.  Submarines that can *only* be crewed by no less than exactly nine people, a "driveshaft" from a Nazi WW2 sub that is actually a crankshaft from a car engine and miraculously fits a cold war era Soviet sub, an escape from "hull crush depth" in torpedo tubes (impossible) in what appear to be thin rubber suits with zip-up (I kid you not!) plastic hoods, and.... the piece de resistance....  gold...  wait for it...        ...that floats.

    Yes.... floating gold.

If I'd paid to see this in the cinema, I'd have demanded a refund, and as much floating gold as I could carry home.
