Yep, watched it the other night. It's certainly interesting but can't say I was overly enamoured with it. I hope you like drums...

It's one of the few films I've turned off, I just didn't get it, it was going nowhere

    Avengers: Age of Ultron

Probably not quite as good a film as the first one, but better, snarkier script, more Hawkeye and both Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bethany were excellent.

We cannot turn against each other right now. That's exactly what the beavers would want.

    Zombeavers.

    Well, I enjoyed it

    Little Shop of Horrors
Musical caper, a bit of fun. Steve Martin plays a great part as the sadist dentist (and Audrey's boyfriend) and Levi Stubbs is superb as the voice of the plant.

    Dr Strangelove
Peter Sellers is outstanding in this playing three different parts. Quite believable and rather frightening to think what could have happened in the hands of some crazed American General!

    Ouija

An utterly generic "good-looking middle class high school seniors in mild peril" horror effort.  All the usual rubbish - bathroom mirrors, cheap jump-scares, feeble little twist at the end.  I watched it so you don't have to.

Mrs refused to watch it after 3 or 4 minutes saying it looked shit (which bodes well for the film if I'm honest) so will have a watch on my own this week.

    Pitch Perfect.

Surprisingly, this was really, really, really enjoyable. Laugh out loud funny the whole way through. 9/10

    Jack Reacher

Some great lines and some really well done fighting can't rescue the rest of it. Meh. 6/10

    Now You See Me

Really stylish, but the payoff was too weak. And once you know the ending there's no way it'll survive repeat viewing. Definite style over substance. 5/10

    Scratch

A documentary about DJs (well, turntablists). Utterly fascinating. 9/10

Pulp: A Film About Life, Death, and Supermarkets

Not your average band. Not your average music documentary. Utterly fabulous, you don't need to be a fan to enjoy this because it's really an homage to the people of Sheffield and not about the band at all. Get it watched.

    10/10

  • Interstellar. finally got round to watching it, it was good. I can live with some of the loose science in it if the plot is self consistent and it kept me going along happily enough (apart from one reasonably glaring issue with time dilation and signal transmission).

One of the greatest films ever made.

The ability for an individual commander to launch a nuclear strike without presidential authority was real until quite a long time into the Cold War, too.

Due to our 7 yr old, I had completely forgotten how good/excellent Ghostbusters is.

Go and watch it now. Weaver is HOT, and Murray is just sublime.

    Mad Max: Fury Road

Granted a couple of minutes of boobs were edited out, but I thought it was a bit meh. Not bad at all - a great bit of kersplodey action and Hardy/Theron are both excellent (but frankly, when are they not?) but the story felt a bit under-done if I'm honest. I'd have probably enjoyed it more if it hadn't been so hyped online tbh.
