Or maybe there's going to be another "fight" and he'll come this time with soldiers... After all... if he's not a Good Man any more, then going to war is something he can do.

Demons run when a good man goes to war
Night will fall and drown the sun
When a good man goes to war

Friendship dies and true love lies
Night will fall and the dark will rise
When a good man goes to war

Demons run, but count the cost
The battle's won, but the child is lost
When a good man goes to war

... what happens when The Doctor stops being a Good Man?

The BBC needs the product placement cash ... O2 will be sponsoring the Tardis as when you phone their service line it's like being lost in space and time ...

This week… silly but good :).

And Rik Mayall would have made a better Robin :(.

Agree .. liked the episode. Good fun and excellent entertainment with tongue firmly in cheek. Capaldi's an excellent Doctor and Clara played her part. Good to see some dialogue, jokes and character development.

  • OK, it was silly light fluff.  great for a saturday evening, but why make the Dr such a buffoon.  The scene in the dungeon arguing with robin was just daft.

    and no Missy this week.

Oh dear, dear, dear ...I thought today's episode was just ridiculous.
It'll be running on CBBC at this rate.

  • I'm with @equalsql on this one. Disappointing. Aside from the odd person getting killed, it was like a kids' show.

And what's with the "resolution" at the end? Seriously? HOW DID THAT WORK, EVEN WITHIN THE SILLINESS OF THE EPISODE'S FRAMEWORK?

Mr Moffat, you have a lot of explaining to do. The only potentially decent bit was the tie-in to the new story arc (which lasted about 5 seconds).

It was silly but my girls and wife enjoyed it. It was helped when he admitted that he cheated, as that scene was way to daft otherwise. I'm trying to embrace dr Who for what it is (now) and not keep wishing that it was like I want it to be.

you mean you find the idea of shooting a golden arrow at a fleeing spacecraft and hitting it in exactly the right spot that it magically fixes a failing space drive silly?

I thought it was the best episode in ages.

It was so refreshing that it could be a lighthearted slightly silly episode without the burden of being tied to an overly dramatic story arc.

The Doctor was getting very Pertwee which I like and it wasn't forgetting that it was a family show.

I've been a Dr Who fan since the Pertwee days. It was the highlight of my weekend in the late 70s/early 80s and it would really spoil my day if we got in the house late after a family visit to the grandparents or shopping trip on a Saturday afternoon (my parents still bear the scars of me sulking in the back of the car because IT STARTED FIVE MINUTES AGO!). So I've been enjoying the new Dr Who and Capaldi has been the best so far. To quote Bill Hicks, "It's just a ride." Enjoy the 45 minutes but don't over-think it. That's my philosophy. If you start picking holes in the plot it's not fun any more.

Except it didn't fix it, just allowed it to get a bit higher before exploding.  And why did it explode.
