I'm obviously not speaking as a fan, but looking at the squad I can understand Greasy Grealish not being needed because of the other players they've got in his position. I suppose including Toney as well as Watkins is maybe the only one that you might think could have swapped for Greasy but again, I can kind of understand wanting more centre forward options (and I think Watkins can play wider at a push?). I like Watkins as a player.

What will they do if Shaw gets a knock or a red card?

Oh didn't know he wasn't actually fit! Does Trippier still cover that side? Then maybe play Trent at right back, and hope they don't need to do any defending haha

That's not really Southgate's approach though.

You don't need to unlock a defence when you've passed, passed, passed, passed and passed again, and the opposition have joined the crowd and fallen asleep ...
