Wow, got that wrong. Exciting game so far and that first Spanish goal just makes scoring goals look like a piece of piss. Properly skilful.

Wow. Some Spanish player swapped shirts with Mbappe already. It's only halftime.

It's hard to not be jealous of what Spain have had over the last 15 years or so

Well played Spain, probably the best team in the tournament.

So tonight - I think we'll go back to a back 4, based on how the often Dutch line up - I'd start with Luke Shaw and get out of him what they can, before substituting him

Kane will start but certainly questionable if that should be the case, based on his last 4-5 games and contribution to each of those games

Think Guehi will start again, alongside Stone

    Here's hoping

Not if DPD are delivering it.

    I'm quietly confident.

France to win 1-0, it is a penalty but the Spanish goalie saves it then accidentally throws it into the goal
All I keep reading in the build up is no one likes the French right wing - They tolerate the left wing and find the centre boring - If they don't get on then how are they going to win
This slice of fried gold will not go unnoticed.

I'm told from "a source close to the camp" that we're in for a few surprises tonight, with the team being "released" and told to play dynamic, fluid, attacking, risk-taking football.

    Pickford in goal, obviously.

    Then a 3-2-3-2 formation with;
    1. Back3 of Walker (RCB), Stones (MCB), Guehi (LCB)
    2. DMs Rice & Mainoo with Rice slotting back alongside Stones if necessary, Walker & Guehi then moving further out R/L respectively
    3. AMs Eze, Kane & Foden, Eze more centrally, Foden primarily on the right but coming in centrally when there's the opportunity.  Kane brought back to spread the passes out to whoever's in front of him.
    4. Front 2 of Saka & Watkins
Any player who doesn't finish the game with a positive ratio of forward : sideways/backwards passes has to re-watch every England game from the tournament 3 times.

Palmer & Bowen come on at HT (whatever the score) just for the WTF effect.  Gordon comes on mid-way through the 2nd half, though the game is all over by then.

I'm also told, from the same "source close to the camp" that Southgate was kidnapped by aliens a couple of days ago, and replaced with a look-a-like who believes that football should entertain the fans.

Can you provide evidence for your claim that football was invented in Spain?
