    Anyone like a veyron?

I wouldn't mind a wee go of one.
Wouldn't mind having a drive but hardly a looker, IMHO.

The Chiron is a lot better looking.

But the decision to keep the 1930s grille shape means neither merits the 'best looking car ever made' moniker.

Agreed, but I think it does have something about it when you look more closely. Amazing piece of machinery. Plus it looks so balanced when being driven.

All of those types of Rolls and Bentleys look much better with two doors:

That is just a fantastic looking thing in Brooklands Green
There is a slightly better looking version called The Chinese Eye on account of the Headlight shape but it's probably overdue for a name change in today's world
I do like the Park Ward S3 with the slanted headlights but I prefer the H J Mulliner cars. The two-door Mulliner car with the dual headlights, pictured, is extremely rare - they only made a handful.

Had one of these (an XK) in Liquid Silver, which I think suits them perfectly. It was one of the earliest of that model )an 06) and was plagued with electrical problems. A lovely design though IMO - I also had the supercharged version (XKR) in black, which was a brute. Steering and throttle a little light and numb for me, but a lovely car to own. I'm thinking of getting another one, thanks to this damn thread.

I do love the XKs. There's some one who drives past me most mornings on the way to work and it sounds glorious. Certainly one of the best sounding modern V8 cars I've come across.

Crude and a bit agricultural but looks fantastic and is a real brute.  Love 'em!

Not sure it's that crude - Lamborghini essentially made the engine.

I think the rest of it is fairly crude when compared to Europe's finest.  Doesn't mean I don't want one though :-)

The change in direction on the Shit Brands thread and the discussions around the relative merits (or otherwise) of the Citroen SM got me idly wondering about what I considered to be the best looking car of all time. Of course, there could only ever be one conclusion as far as I was concerned... and it had to be in this colour :-)

    Either the Datsun 240Z...

1975 Datsun 240Z Janspeed Turbo Conversion RHD For Sale By Auction

    Or the Ferrari Dino.

    Lot 89 - 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT

That second half of the 60s going into the 70's styling really works for me. Of the two, I'd take the 240Z. Just a great looking and sounding car.

If you want a Bentley Continental it has to be the fastback:

  • I've always found Rolls and Bentleys to be cars that you buy for other people to drive you around it, making 2 door versions of them useless, why droop a few hundred £K on a car you're going to have to move the front seat forward to squeeze into the uncomfortable back seat of to be driven around in?
