The result of today's meeting is meant to be ratified next week so still time for change, though I reckon it'll still go ahead

It'll definitely change when a race contract comes up for review though- noone running a circuit is going to be happy that their race is seen as lesser than Abu Dhabi.

So a third place in the last race is worth more than a win in the previous race. It wasn't that long ago that Bernie was saying that wins are everything and was even mooting the idea of a medals table.

It's very odd. The Germans have already convicted the bloke accused of accepting the bribe - so how can Bernie run a defence in a German court that there wasn't one?

If Bernie is acquitted then surely the other bloke should win an appeal?

I'm clearly missing something, but I don't know a thing about the German legal system and I'm not sure I can be bothered to start looking for translations of German law!

More thoughts - if Ron doesn't want to be that hands-on then Boullier is a good option I reckon. Lotus are fucked though. No money and no boss AND Maldonado turning half their money into fines and shards of carbon fibre...

It doesn't make sense .. Sam doesn't have a track record. I can't see Ron being that stupid unless it's a temporary arrangement to get McLaren through the last season with Mercedes whilst Ross spends six months fishing. Ross could join the team later in the year and focus on the relationship with Honda and the 2015 car and then take over the helm. I think this year will be tough for McLaren so maybe Ron just wants shot of Twitmarsh and decided Sam is the lesser of two evils and a short-term solution.

So Lotus lose Eric and Kimi and gain Maldonardo... clearly Sam would be a perfect fit in this new Lotus team philosophy!!
