I just received an email from Sky, which includes the following:
    • While we expect that many of the recently postponed sports events will eventually go ahead, if you wish to pause your sports subscription you will not be charged a fee to do so or be held to any notice period. Meanwhile, we continue to provide high quality content across all of our 11 sports channels.

Fortuitously, already deciding to cancel it before everything went tits up.  Conversation went like this:

Mrs Cols:  “Sky bill is going up by £4 per month. Do you want to continue with the Sky Sports package?”

    Cols:  “No.”

  • Anyone gonna try and watch this 'Virtual Bahrain GP' due to start shortly?! Free to air on YouTube and F1.Com. Might give it a go for the novelty factor, see what it's like...

It really wasn't.  Ive played online games for years and the same crappy shit happens.  You go for a good overtake and just get rammed off the track.  They are not risking lives or being knocked out of the race so they all do the same thing.  Several examples in that race and the long torturous wait while they sorted out the "technical issue" was a bit embarrassing.  Not sure ill watch again.

Azerbaijan Grand Prix set to be the latest race to be postponed and Canada is looking doubtful.

It's pretty clear already that they are going to spend the next 6 months announcing postponements until September-ish, then they'll call off the season.

I suspect that much like the Olympics everyone knows this but all parties are playing chicken to try and avoid picking up the bill.

I think you are right. Scientists think there could be more Coronavirus infections in the autumn/winter.

I wonder if the the smaller teams will have to start laying off staff? Do the teams get paid anything in the event there's no racing?

I saw on the news tonight that UCLH are working with Mercedes F1 to produce a CPAP breathing device which can keep patients out of ICU. These have already been approved for use, and if trials go well, Merc say they can produce 1000 a day. This is brilliant news, not just for the UK, but the whole world. If the 2020 season is cancelled, I reckon Merc should be awarded the Constructors championship just for this.

Unfortunately, Trump will probably try to buy Mercedes.

What it shows is the speed with which F1 engineers can react to a given problem. A unique talent from a highly skilled workforce. If you look at what they have achieved in a couple of weeks it's amazing. They managed to re-engineer and vastly improve upon an existing design which will save lives.

I’m pretty sure that if I proposed deliberately infecting my staff there would be a brief, terse interview with HR followed by me being escorted from the premises.

Didn't see that coming so soon, especially when everything in F1 (and sport in general) is so completely up in the air at the moment!

Not surprised really, Le Clerc showed him up repeatedly last year, he isn't on Hamiltons or Alonso's level and never was.
