From some really good performances in the McLaren, Carlos might have to get used to driving a right dog next year. And I’m convinced Vettel won’t cut the mustard when he moved to AM, too.

Just saw the news. 

I know they have Stoffel and Gutierrez on contract, but my god do I want them to give Russell a weekend in a good car...

That was my second thought. I’m honestly fine with either approach. I don’t want to see that car wasted on Gutierrez. Stoffel would be fine, I guess

As much as I’d like to see George in the car. I’m not sure we can just take him from Williams. It would be ace if they could though!!

I see RB has confirmed they won’t make a decision on Albon until after the last race in Abu Dhabi. I thought this was way out of character with their usual shoot from the hip stuff until I read that the company is half owned by a Thai entrepreneur, which says it all.

Yeah, Haas on track for Schumacher and Mazepin as expected. Not a terrible lineup. I’m not a hit fan of Mazepin but he’s not terrible either, so with his $$$ it’s a no-brainer.

Callum Illot is good enough to get a seat in ‘22 anyway, hopefully. I’d guess at Alfa/Sauber when Kimi eventually gets bored and shuffles off

That was my thought too! Then swap Bottas & Russell for next year

From memory, Gutierrez was first in line to replace the stricken Perez at Racing Point until it transpired that he didn’t actually have a super licence anymore, on account of not having been anywhere near a race in some considerable time.  I don’t believe anything has happened in the meantime to change that.

Hulkenberg or Vandoorne, and if we’re being honest Hulkenberg makes more sense.

A mate who's lad works for Merc said much of last week's discussion at the factory before the race was about shoring up Bottas' second place. The really want 1/2 in the drivers.
Of course last week didn't go according to anyone's plans.

Anyone else think that maybe Perez has the second Red Bull seat promised but to the keep the Thai shareholder happy they won't say anything until the end of the season?

Much as I like Albon, I do hope that Perez gets the seat as he is a better driver.
