Doesn’t matter Mikey , I’ve got my excuses already rehearsed

‘I’m shocked - they are usually great around kids’

’i snuggle up with them all the time, I’ve never been stung’

’they are really soft hearted , this is sooo out of character for them ‘ etc

Failing that, I will use any means necessary with my own body to subdue or kill a dog that is threatening my life.

Thing is - with these things - you won't have any means, they are fucking massive, and very powerful animals who are more than capable of overpowering an adult male human being - we didn't survive in the past fighting wolves without weapons.

The mentality of anyone getting a dog as anything except a loved family pet escapes me.  This includes the fuckwits with "status" dogs, the fuckwits flooding rescue centres with Dogs they paid 4k for in lockdown without thinking how they would look after them going forward, the fuckwits who buy Dogs to breed them when it's arguable if they should be allowed to breed themselves.

I'm with the ban on this breed, but also we need to go further, massive regulation of breeding, licensing of ownership, make people realise that taking on a Dog is a massive responsibility, close to taking on a child.

A XL bully weighs between 30 and 60kg. There’s no picking up and swinging one for most people.
It's amazing what adrenaline can do.
And the dog has a lot more of it than you do.

I'm going for the zombie pets. But don't worry guys, it's the owner not the zombies. They're fine, honestly.

Given that man is the most dangerous animal, I'm going to have my 83-year-old neighbour John.

    He's surprisingly spry.

I wouldn't go into a pagga with Nicholas from the other next door. Lovely chap but a stiff breeze might well shatter him.

Exactly this! Talk of defending against these specialised killers using keys, screwdrivers, cheese wire, biro pen, 28lb sledge hammer, ralgex spray, Japanese Santoku chef knife, angle grinder . . . By the time you defend yourself damage will be done

I want to be safe to go for a pleasant walk in the fucking park!

Bad enough defending oneself but in charge of children!?

Dangerous dogs and dickheads is a recipe for disaster. The expression mercy killing comes to mind. The law punishes for crimes committed, I don't want revenge, I don't want trouble.

I understand the logic of this, but in the current climate it feels like comedy timing...

    Actually a very good example.

A large dog can be trained to bring down hefty running blokes who are used to fighting and built for crime... an EVEN LARGER dog that is built to kill you, you have no chance whatsoever unless you are armed.

Even then, it's a bit like the tracker in Africa who said about being out with Lions that he was still very nervous of them.  When asked why, he said if a lion charges you then you have one shot with a rifle, maybe two, before he's got you, and you have to hit it in exactly the right spot, while terrified and off your tits on adrenaline or you will just piss it off more.

It's better to avoid the lion, unless you are Idris Elba of course.

This is all nonsense.  As mentioned in this much older comment in a different thread:
and in the following comment in this thread:
any vicious dog can easily be controlled by grabbing its "hips" and bending its back legs upwards in a physiotherapy / chiropractic / yoga manipulation.  The person posting that advice has personally seen it in action and used to great effect.
I suspect that this would take an awful lot of training to perfect though, because a dog's hips are behind the dangerous end of the dog  :)

Defence lawyers will actually argue that cadaver dogs are only trained on pig flesh and any evidence based on their searches isn’t reliable.

Okay, I am confronted by one of these savage dogs and have managed to raise its hind legs.

Now what? Wheelbarrow it back to the owner?

It's useful information but it feels like only half of the story.
