    Don't forget, this is partially a charity auction too - that's going to attract higher bids, I'd imagine.

    But for an indication of what the estimates are about...the pair of SLOs makes it absolutely clear. £2-3k on a pair of amps that are more than that for one even when it's second hand and not owned by someone famous? Hell, even with the premium and VAT that'd be a fraction of what they're worth.

    Either Christies don't know what they're doing (not realistic), or they're playing games with the estimates to bump the sale price.

    LOL - just watching them preparing in the auction room and the US lady auctioneer from Christies New York was using US dollars and had to be reminded its UK £'s & she said 'Oh shit, did I really say dollars, OMG I've been practicing too!'   =) :)

    My sources are telling me the delay is due to an ongoing 'escalation' in the lobby between Bonamassa and Keith from Essex Recording studios as to who's commission bid went in first on the 59 Les Paul...

    In all seriousness, I was in a conversation with Sotheby's a few months ago about tech stuff, they're aware that they need to catch up. I guess these kinds of companies have been in a bit of a bubble and are now struggling to get with the programme.
