The wind round here has been tremendous. I'm going to have to check what I've been eating.

I think it's going to be a case of working from home tomorrow. The Tube will probably be affected (lots of trees and foliage in the suburban bits that aren't in tunnels) and First Grating Anglia aren't running anything before 9am.

Right, I had to check out the Validity of these 80-90mph wind claims and just did a 2 minute check of places(equally spaced)  in the South on the BBC Weather site.

Highest was around the S.E Hastings with max of 40-45 mph, most of the other places was 20-30.

I expect they mean "Gusts of Wind" could reach that in the extreme worse case.

Well , all I can say is have been in touch with the Capt. of the ship in Dublin and he is delaying  sailing for 12 hours , so at Sea it is looking rough as he is no wimp and battled some serious weather over the years. I hope it does die down , you never can tell.

I went out earlier it was slightly gusty. I saw somebody get arrested though, he'd been smashing Jewish windows.

well, no damage here. Was a bit worrying, listening to the news, we're bordered by trees, one of which came down last year in conditions of perfect summer, so a blow is always a concern.
