What is that at the end of the neck on the scratch plate CK?  Is that for access to the truss rod at the body end?

@customkits thanks for posting this.

Can I just ask you if you thought the logo on the 54 GT looks very high. There was some variance - it could have come out of the factory lke that.
But lower seems to be more common.
Do you know if it has been repaired in any way?

you probably know who the big replica makers are and it's not one of them, a good replica will crap all over a gibson, that is from mr vintage who has friends with high end replicas plus alot more vintage stuff that i hope to look at one day

I'm still not sure what replica makers your are referring to, could you be more specific on what replicas you're referring to? I'm curious.

No i don't think it's been repaired, the trouble is we only ever see a handful of all these vintage guitars, i don't think they did alot of measuring back then either on where the logo goes
I'm certanily not going believe anything other than that's how it came out when new, it is in such good condition that something would stand out, a really great guitar imo

Funnily enough I looked at 54s on gbase before posting and there is one there right now that has a very high logo.

I'm still not sure what replica makers your are referring to, could you be more specific on what replicas you're referring to? I'm curious.

Best thing to do is speak to ramon he knows about them and plays them, you need to do your homework
He's on you tube and facebook with his guitar, he'll give you an unbiased view of all LP stuff

So, to commission one of these top quality replicas, eg on a '58 or '59 LP, what type of cost would someone be looking at and how long would it take to build?

I've played the 58/59 replicas and they were incredible, Ramon's guitar in particular is something really special. 

Looking forward to the Goldtop coming along as well!
