There’s a complete non-story on planetf1 this morning about “the double-whammy of Adrian Newey moving to another team”.

The double-whammy is… not only does that team have Adrian Newey, but all the other teams don’t.

So he doesn't think he could turn the Merc around fast enough to make it worth going there at his age...?

Cue Horner doing a Trump at Miami press conferences and claiming “Newey? Barely knew the guy. Hasn’t been near a drawing board for years. None of our recent cars have had anything to do with him. We actually tried to get rid of him years ago, but he’s like Milton out of Office Space.”

Good article, I read it earlier. Some real eyeopening moments about how crap the medical arrangements were before Sid got involved and shook it all up.

Which is only a couple of months after Ferrari are allowed to start work Ont he new regs anyway. And AN works on paper so he’ll still be able to sketch to his hearts content while in the garden

So - the press release says he will continue to work on the RB road car.

That's good for RB - the project would have suffered greatly without Newey, particularly in being able to market it as being Newey designed.

I wonder how long it will be before Newey announces his destination. He could still just decide to retire from F1 completely.

He talks about “new challenges” and the team doesn’t mention retirement so I highly doubt it.
