Which Movie Scene Freaked You The Most

What's Hot
I saw this film in the 80's on T.V when I was about 14. I bought it recently, still not got around to watching it all again, but this scene cropped up in the old memory.

Definitely the weirdest and most unsettling thing I've seen, more so than any Gore, Ghost or Special Effects C.G.I.

The freaky bit is toward the end but it's best watched in it's entirety.

As a side note, I watched Britannia Hospital recently and found it to be the weakest of the 3 Mick Travis films, although it was a good film, IF and O Lucky Man are far superior.

Don't have Nightmare's :-D

The head falling out of the bottom of the boat in "Jaws". Frightened the bloody life out of me. I was only 10 though.

Event Horizon  .. The missing crew's video log. I don't mind saying that that scared the feck out of me.. and apparently it was the toned version due to censorship..

Seven was a great film @Drew_fx

    That's a great scene too @hootsmon

I too had never picked that out, probably because his mouth didn't move with the words.

I know some people who have never spotted the "Skull behind the face of Norman" in the Padded Cell scene at the end. You can see him purse his lips to enhance the effect at that moment, obviously at the instruction of the Director blah blah.

Pause at 1:29 and go frame by frame from there.

Creepy with minimal effects and budget.

The last bit of Don't Look Now seen by me on a black and white portable telly late at night.

I didn't see Jaws until it appeared on TV and it didn't bother me at all (though I had the book before I saw the film and that was quite scary)

I liked Se7en but it didn't scare me as far as I can recall.

Only saw it recently but it had me pretty freaked out, it really is an unusual and unexpected plot for what you expect to be the traditional girls get stuck out in the middle of nowhere in hill billy country when their car breaks down in bad weather with only one shack in sight, but it's called 'Wilderness Survival Guide For Girls', it's not a big budget hollywood blockbuster, but it freaked me out.

  • When the girl falls to her death at the start of Cliffhanger...I remember that really surprising me at the time - it was all set up to be one of those predictable "just saved her in the nick of time" scenes.

If we can include TV shows, there are two scenes that stick in my mind:
Spooks - the deep fat fryer scene.
The chap in ER getting his arm chopped off by the helicopter.

This. Honestly the most shocking thing I've seen, partly because it was so unexpected (especially on the Beeb), but also because it's fucking horrible.

From films...I don't really remember anything particularly nasty, but I do seem to recall being mildly squicked-out by the first time the spiders in Arachnophobia jumped.

Quite a lot of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane but the surprise lunches especially ( I'm too frightened to look for the scene on YouTube).
There was an X Files were there was a family of inbred hillbillies who kept their mother on a trolley under the bed for breeding purposes. I feel sick thinking about it.
