Well, Newcastle and Sunderland are interesting.

    UKIP sunk. Dead. Buried.

Not it as big a swing as the exit poll suggests.

It is going to be a long night, and it is now clear that it is too early to call anything here...
How do you get a swing in a rock solid safe seat .. :-)
Now my time to admit to bad wording ;)

Of course, I meant Tory vote share increased by a larger percentage than Labour percentage :)
And the exit poll predicted the opposite

    Oh my god.

There are reports on pressure from tories for may to go already.

So if the Tories get a slim majority and boot May, we could feasibly end up with.....

    Boris.

She won't be able to form a coalition. She's got more chance of getting a cheeky finger from Jean Claude Junker under the Brexit table.

Or the best chance in a lifetime to get proper cross-party consensus on every issue, instead of a 'majority' government imposing its will on everyone else.

    But I'm probably hopelessly optimistic.
Personally I would love a con/lab joint cabinet to get Brexit absolutely right, with an election straight afterwards.
You might want to learn this ....

Actually May and Corbyn might get on really well. The George and Mildred of politics. They could turn it into a reality show.

Dude you're the one person who's going to come out of this election with less credibility than May
Like I really care what you think ?

Dude this is an Internet forum and today is an election calm the fuck down and we can catch up in the morning.

Calm down? I'm virtually horizontal, I just think the way you have spoken to people in threads the last few weeks you come across as a pompous and rude person, which is odd because you've never seemed that way on here before.
Seriously dude... you've been a tool for years. People in glass houses n all that... yes I know... I'm a hypocrite, but at least I realise I'm a wanker!

I was clerking a polling station in a Labour area of Bristol. The minute we closed down the station at 2200, the phones came out. The exit poll wasn't a huge surprise.

For wanky stuff like the regional mayor election a couple of months ago, it was a 262 turnout. For EURef, that once in a lifetime political moneyshot... it was under 450.

Over 800 people turned out today. Huge amounts of pro-Labour comment, way more than any election of any type that I've clerked (and I've been doing this shit for 8 years now).

Thrasher on Sky News talked a fair bit earlier about the young vote bumping up the numbers. I can tell him what the real surprise was today in my area. We had a lot of guys running mid 30s to late 40s coming in to vote and asking how to do it because they hadn't voted since they were in their teens/early 20's. I haven't seen that demographic out in force before since I came to Bristol in 2013. These weren't people voting for the first time: they were people returning to politics for the first time in two decades or so, and I would estimate this group to be around the 25 to 30 mark in terms of numbers.

    lol

May says "the country needs a period of stability"... having caused the most unstable election result since 1974 by her own stupidity.

    Just go.
