So, after all the inevitable infighting, who do you think will be the next PM, because its a pretty sure thing that TM won't survive this. Difficult to think of an obvious lead candidate.

Wonder what time @capo4th will wake up? Can't wait to see his reaction to this. I've been up since 5am watching the coverage. Fascinating stuff.

Mind you he's probably not back from his morning fox hunt yet. :-)

Morning all looks like we are in a huge period of uncertainty!

Fair play to Jezza he has rallied the people. A hung parliament !

The coalition between Lib Dems and conservatives was actually a good thing as it led to good balanced decisions for the country.

Lets remember Labour did not win the election.

While the uncertainty of this outcome is the last thing our country needs - it is a victory for democracy. You decide your USP is being 'Strong and Stable' - then spend several weeks demonstrating that actually you're not. You demonstrate your understanding of people by announcing your enthusiasm for fox hunting when visiting an engineering works. You U turn on the Dementia Tax and tell a bare-faced lie, insisting 'nothing has charged' - even adopting the Trump mannerism of repeating it to highlight its dishonesty - while seemingly believing that your audience is stupid enough to believe you.

Dim-witted, without integrity - and self-perception easily on par with David Brent and Alan Partridge....

I fell asleep last night on the sofa.

What is the general concenus on how a governemnt will be formed?

Coalitions or a Tory minority governemnt and a second election in the near future?

I suspect they will go for a minority govt but it will mean another election in a years time.

This needs a 1940 solution. The Queen should ask Ken Clarke to form a government of national unity, as the elder statesman of the Commons, a member of the largest party, and probably the only choice all the other parties might support.

He would also be the ideal leader to negotiate Brexit - which he couldn't block, since he's accepted that Parliament voted for it - he's respected in Europe, and he wouldn't want to stay on as PM any longer than necessary to get the job done since he's already 76.

Then call an election in 2020 - as it should have been anyway - when the negotiations are complete.

Fecking wonderful news nationally although extremely dismayed at the tory  gains in scotland.

Brexit means consensus politics for UK .  Surely got to be better than the uncompromising  hard brexit that Mrs uturn was seeking.

Well !  Interesting times ahead. My take:

May's toast, lord knows who's the successor ....

Last we'll see of Lynton Crosby (pulls party popper)

Parliamentary Labour Party will have to stop its tantrums

Cohesive Labour party :o now that's an oddity ! And top marks for Jezza for pulling that trick off !

More Momentum media shennanigans, probably the norm for a generation at least (gloom)

A socially inclusive agenda HAS to be the way ahead (like it always should have been), no tax cuts, probably modest rises

NHS will be allowed to bimble along, incompetently managed and devouring more-and-more money unaccountably

    More populist Tory policies (gloom)

Imagine something sharp and witty here ......
