I don't think I could bring myself to buy special tyres for a couple of days of snow, that's even sillier than buying a convertible in Wales.
    That would indeed be silly.

But buying a set of tyres for 4 months of the year, that'll also give you astounding grip on snow, is less silly. Or buying a set of tyres that'll work all year 'round as well as pretty decent grip on snow.

Or staying at home when it snows. Which isn't silly at all.
Well I've got special tyres and a convertible combined, so I'm going out to play later
    :)

60 miles North of Inverness. Been snowing for a day and a half now. No buses. No trains. No post. No nothing. Local store is open, but they have a tin of beans and some gluten free rice cakes. Water pipes are freezing, so flushing the toilet is an interesting experiment. And I think we’re about to run out of oil. No central heating could be interesting.
Still... I guess it looks pretty.

That looks either hilariously dangerous or hilariously fun. Good luck!

Well, still without heating and water.  The pump is fine so the pipes must be frozen. Not a lot I can do about it.

Little bit of water in the tank which I can use for drinking water but have just had to melt a load of snow so I could flush the toilet .

Officially fed up with this weather now.

Man! You can't be serious. Biking in snow is sheer crazy. I did it when I was young and knew no better..

I've just driven from Swansea to Newport and back.  Clear up as far as J34 (Llantrisant) then it starts.  Coming down light but steady in Newport.  Currently in Bridgend - no snow to speak of but the roads are eerily quiet.  The Beast from the East is arriving about 6pm - but you don't need to know about my sister-in-law.

FFS do the BBC really need to make every news article over the last two days about the snow and traffic delays? Errr, we know. I’ve just watched the most tortuous and awkward interview ever about an old bloke who would have gone hungry if his meals on wheels dinner hadn’t arrived due to the snow. Except it did.

Btw. It’s snowed here earlier.  ;)

It's rather chilly out on East Lancashire.

The hills are making for some tricky driving, so I decided to not drive anywhere.

    Please do!

Ah you’re an asbestos carpet fitter..
Not quite, but it did involve asbestos! I was taking a sample from some suspect sheeting in my attic to send away for testing,  before I go cutting through it to put in a bathroom fan and roof vent.
It's probably just plasterboard but no point taking the risk.

I took Sprocket to the green for a play. She had a lovely time rolling in the snow, and I was snug/smug and warm in my parka and gloves (with liners) and my fleece-lined trousers and my big woolly hat.

The house felt very hot on my return though.
