All creatures great and small would be one I think, although I haven't seen it in quite a few years.

  • Big Fan of the UK comedy series that was a bit like our version of Friends: Coupling

Utterly superbly written and pretty consistently funny
Oh yes that was brilliant, Coupling and Snack The Pony were absolute must-see for me at the time
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

too much gratuitous fisting for my tastes.

I'm not locked in here with you, you are locked in here with me.

The Good Place. It's the only one I've seen that was relentlessly wholesome, yet encouraged the audience to think pretty deeply about life.
The final episode really got me. One of the most beautifully emotional bits of television I've ever seen.

Northern Exposure....from the local’s point of view.
    Yep, the original series

Friends and Frasier for basic laughs.

At the moment, I'm really enjoying 'This is Us' on Prime - it's on Series 5. Excellent writing.

  • Got to mention Mortimer and Whitehouse : Gone Fishing. Wonderful programme.

Very funny and extremely touching at times.

Yes. Proper old man Sunday night telly.

Just when you think it might get too sentimental, Bob Mortimer randomly falls on his arse.

I might be pushing the brief here but remembering back to Lockdown (the original and best lockdown) I had cause to prove that there really was a kids TV show that involved young boys going over obstacle courses on motorbikes. Went onto YT to dig up a copy and it was surprisingly life-affirming. Hosted by Peter Purves and the great Jack Stites.

    I give you Junior Kickstart:

Crikey, yes! How on Earth could I have forgotten such an important part of my youth! Absolutely brilliant, I do remember an episode where a lad has an off into some kind of pit and the St Johns ambulance guy continually falling arse over tit trying to get to him!
Tomorrow will be a good day.

I've been watching The Big Match Revisited and the programmes from the 70s bring back memories of playing with a tennis ball in the back garden and swapping football cards in the playground.

It never ceases to amaze me that I can remember players from fifty years ago by just seeing a glimpse of them.

I watched an episode last night for the first time in ages, I laughed out loud a lot! It's shot more like a documentary than a regular sitcom, but there's some really funny stuff in there. Great characters, especially the dad, although I love the big gay guy as well.

Lodge 49, though only the first season is on Prime, and that has a bit of a downer ending (the second season, before it was cancelled, ends in a much more upbeat way, but for some reason it's not on Prime yet). A Californian surfer falls in with a masonic-style lodge.

  • There are a couple of John Mulaney stand up specials on Netflix. The political stuff is very low key, bit of swearing and it’s very American and it’s not cutting edge but certainly feel good.
My attempts with the stand up specials on Netflix have been disappointing so this was a pleasant surprise.
