  • I've seen rec, which was excellent, and Dog Soldiers, which was absolutely fantastic. Not scary in the slightest, but funny, witty and gritty and not dull at any point. It's worth watching the whole thing for the... Well, I'll not spoil. Suffice to say, I was crying with laughter.

Tomorrow, I'm seeing the rite (Hopkins) and the wolf of wall Street.

  • Wolf of Wall Street.

As is the fashion at the moment, it was about 45 minutes longer than it needed to be, but there were several brilliantly funny scenes with really dark undertones, and at least one stand out scene that is head an shoulders above what most films manage in 90 minutes.

    So, recommended.

Saw American Hustle the other night. Don't believe all the hype and award nominations - it really wasn't very good.

"Rush" is currently on, but I'm not really watching it.

It's a well-made, well-acted film about the dullest sport in history.

I liked Rush. The guy playing James Hunt is excellent.

Watched the original 'Pulse' the other night - also quite a good little horror, wish I hadn't seen the Hollywood remake first though because I kind of had an idea of what was going to happen in different setpieces.

Have a few Far Eastern horrors to watch over the next few weeks...

Blue Jasmine : nice film from Woody Allen and Blanchett is superb

The Wolf of Wall Street : Loved it, best film I've seen for quite a while

Dallas Buyers Club : highly recommenced, touching semi autobiographical film about a guy sneaking aids meds  across the border and building a buyers club to help others

  • I've been looking at further releases over the next few months and it seems a bit crap.  Some years there are a couple of films per months I want to go see.  This year and Im struggling to find anything.

Part way through Midnight Express, going for round two tonight. I had thought I had watched this film but none of it is at all familiar. So, at some point I watched a different film I thought was Midnight Express. I wonder what that was.

A film about a cop who gets killed on a bust and gets put into Heavans' Police Dept searching for escaped souls for judgement. Good fun. 6/10.
