Agree with Lixarto regarding The Mist. The ending IMO is actually better than the book too.
Yes. And that hardly ever happens.

  • Just saw Riddick hoping it would be as good as the second film, alas it was just a remake of the first

  • Sound City...just brilliant. Such affection from everyone involved, and I've got a whole load more respect for Dave Grohl now.
The first half was excellent ,but I thought the live performances just dragged on too long.

  • Watched John Carter (of Mars)  the other night .

Not as bad as the reviews would have you believe . and Lynn Collins looks incredible.

Out Of The Furnace (Christian Bale), and The Railway Man (Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman). Both very good.

    "The Runaways."

For some reason I liked it, although that was nothing whatsoever to do with drop dead gorgeous Dakota Fanning's portrayal of Cherie Currie. Nor the lesbian scene. Oh, no. Not a bit.

    Rush
Generally excellent. I'm sure it takes liberties with the details but it's a good 2 hours and great to see F1 get some attention from non-fans

    Gravity
Dull as fuck. Even ignoring the complete impossibility of it I just found it boring. The CG is all very clever, but I just don't care.

    R.I.P.D.
Much more entertaining than the reviews suggested. Basically Men in Black with dead guys but a good sofa+wine type movie.

    Westworld
A product of its time but good fun. Clearly a big influence on the Terminator/Predator thing, too.

  • How I Live Now. Cost £3.99 to rent, so I think they have recovered their production budget just off us.
Teen coming of age meets WWIII / post apocalypse. If the main character in the Walking Dead was a 16 year old girl and there were no zombies and it was filmed in Wales.

Sadly got talked into going to see August by Mrs.K as our son was attending a birthday party/film show at the same cinema - kill 2 birds with 1 stone etc..
Great casting and stellar performances, but what a depressing film and it gets progressively worse, or so my wife tells me -  I left 15 mins before the end and I'm pleased I did!
Apparently this was adapted from a play and you get that from it.

Watched Perks of Being a Wallflower last night, great film.

Enjoyed all of them About Time and Baggage Claim are a bit chick flick but enjoyed them nonetheless.

"The Adjustment Bureau", with Matt Damon and Emily Blunt.

Sci-fi chewing gum for the eyes. A waste of a good actor.

Very pretty, cool martial art stuff.  Story absolute bobbins.

Still, Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi are nice to look at.

She was like 15 when that was filmed...

Walter Mitty - It was ok. Could have been more feel-good. Kristen Wiig is hawt.

Her - Quite liked this. Scarlett Johanssen's voice acting was very good.

The Railway Man (Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman). Excellent, but very tense.

Out Of The Furnace (Christian Bale). I'd actually gone to see Lone Survivor but it had already started so saw OOTF instead. Bit predictable but still a good film.

Me and the missus saw Dallas Buyers Club on Monday.  Truly excellent film with tremendous perfromances from Leto and Mahogany.

Me and the kids say RoboCop yesterday.  Kids enjoyed it.  Probably not as bad as some reviews would suggest....  The kids had pick n' mix.  I had grapes.
