Enemy - an identity mystery thriller thing with a beardy jake gyllenhall or however its spelt. found the music and yellowy cinematography a bit annoying, and the story.
after it finished i feel that i'm meant to go back and rewatch it a few times to try and understand, but i have better things to do

blue ruin - very good revenge thriller, recommend!

jodorowskys dune - documentary about the failed attempt to film dune in the early 1970s, lots of interviews with jodorowsky, giger, foss and other creatives involved in all the elaborate preproduction, including getting magma and pink floyd on board to do soundtrack, and orson welles, dali, mick jagger and others to star in it.
pretty interesting and its such a shame it never got funding because it would have been awesome

    Donnie Brasco.
Compelling gangster drama based on true life undercover operation.
    Black Hawk Down.
Compelling war drama based on true life military operation.
Picked up both for £1 each in a charity shop.

My Ginger Baker week. Saw him on Sunday behind PeeWee Ellis. Found Beware of Mr Baker on Netflix ( I still wouldn't pay for it though...). I didn't know much of this stuff about him and he isn't exactly a loveable character but worth a watch if you like a music documentary. God knows how he is still alive.

Watched Filth and thought it was great, then watched Captain Phillips and thought it was an entertaining couple of hours.

'The Experiment', Forest Whittaker as a surprisingly convincing baddie in a remake that forgot to bring much of a semblance of a plot.

We're doing the free Netflix month thing again. TBH I think it's a bit shite ( well, very good for free but I wouldn't pay for it). The rest of theWeary family watched The Tall Man on Netflix last night which they all got a bit bored with. But Hansel and Gretel is on there so I shall try to watch that before the month is up, big and silly sounds good.
I presume you've watched Breaking Bad and Orange is the new black?

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

^ no, although my oldest has (Breaking Bad on FX).Netflix has quite a lot of US series but the ones I'm interested in I have seen on cable. It's generally poor on recent films and there isn't much ( hardly any) music catalogue which I'd like. The old horses for courses and, err, some horse metaphor that means it doesn't really work for me. :(|)

I saw a trailer for that and wept for the standards of the British movie-going public. Currently one of the highest-grossing films of the summer.

Quite enjoyed the first tv series but it's definitely had its day.
Apparently the film had no advance screenings for the critics so I think that tells you everything.
Not seen the film.I'd rather clean my scrotum with a Brillo Pad.

Well not a lot out in the last week or so (well apes is out now). So I've been catching up movies I missed at the cinema. So far

Inside Llewyn Davis....couldn't warm to the lead at all. Such a douche. Might catch it again in the future, the music was good. But I really didn't like the main character.

And The Monuments Men....pfft it's average, Kate Blanchets accent?? Bill Murray saves the film for me. But a very bland experience.

Dependent on the weather I may watch Under the Skin tomorrow.

I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.
