    No contest:

It’s a good call, but the works 300 SLR gullwing coupe is better in my opinion.

(Yes, I know the bodyshells were built by separate companies and varied a bit, but most looked very similar to this.)

My uncle owned one in the 1960s and early 70s, when old pre-war cars like this weren't very expensive.
My dad had one of these when I was growing up and it was truly awful if I recall - even then it was very antiquated.

The change in direction on the Shit Brands thread and the discussions around the relative merits (or otherwise) of the Citroen SM got me idly wondering about what I considered to be the best looking car of all time. Of course, there could only ever be one conclusion as far as I was concerned... and it had to be in this colour :-)

Both stunning lookers - hard to believe these are over 60 years old, they look like concept cars

Funny. I answered the same, before opening the thread.
Me too, on reading the thread title, but then I remembered that the 288 GTO exists.

A few contenders but the Miura just edges it.

No takers for the E type so far?

Edit: Cruchman's gone for the E type, missed that, soz.

I can't be doing with all those modern cars personally. For me I'd go Austin Healey 3000, and this colour scheme:

    Some lovely looking cars!

I think those modern takes on the classic 911s look great. The perfect balance of modern and classic. Can't think what the company is called now?

I love the 3000 but the seating position is very high - whenever I see someone driving one, their eye-line always appears to be above the windscreen.
