Some good suggestions, surprised no one has mentioned the Ferrari 250 GTO, but most of the 50s Ferrari's are works of art:

Ferrari 250 SWB at the Tour Auto
Ferrari 275 GTB 2 cam LHD
I found it surprising too.  I am conflicted though as I think the 250 SWB is actually better looking with the 275GTB not far behind but for me the best looking Ferrari is the F40.

  • I've got a soft spot for the 80's testarossa. Very of it's time.

  • Already mentioned above, McLaren F1 and E-Type Jag.

I'll add in the '34 Ford from the ZZ Top videos of the 80's.  Lovely

  • Breaking the thread rules slightly as this is a conceptual rendering...but look at it. The perfect, completely impractical restomod!

Also surprised nobody has posted a pic of one of these:

Having once owned one, I also have a soft spot for these, wish I'd kept it, it'd be worth five figures now:

    Nope, sorry, you're all wrong.

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is the most beautiful car ever made. Franco Scaglione's masterpiece. Only 18 made, the first two of which were prototypes (identifiable by their quad headlights over the singles of the later models).

They rarely ever come up for sale, or even shown at events, this was the most recent one - https://kidston.com/motorcars/1120-1968-Alfa-Romeo-Tipo-33-Stradale

    Current estimates are around $10million.

Next year I'm making the pilgrimage to Milan to see one in the flesh.

Not strictly playing by the rules as the rest of you have chosen road cars, but it's the Ferrari P4 by a considerable margin.

this is my #2 (although actually it's the P3 with the P4 engine)

An Aston Martin showroom salesman let me sit in the driver seat of one of these when I was about 9 or 10 back in the mid '70s.

It made a big impression on me at the the time. I also remember vividly the price on the windscreen - £7,999 - which may as well have been a million to a little squirt from humble background.

@riftamps is going to laugh himself into a coma after I commented on his Alfa, but this is the only FWD car I really lust after:

  • Much as I like the Ferrari F40, beauty is also on the inside.

To that end I'd pick the F50 with its 4.7l naturally aspirated V12 that was based on the Ferrari 412T Formula One car.
Straight through exhaust pipes and sound wise it's on the same level as a Vulcan Bomber.

The F40 had a 3l Turbo engine.  Looked okay.  But look at this from the F50:-

  • The F50 is obviously incredible but from the outside it's just a clumsier (and worse) re-tread of the glorious F40

I agree on looks alone, but as a package I'd go for the F50, given the choice.
