The change in direction on the Shit Brands thread and the discussions around the relative merits (or otherwise) of the Citroen SM got me idly wondering about what I considered to be the best looking car of all time. Of course, there could only ever be one conclusion as far as I was concerned... and it had to be in this colour :-)

Bull In The Cotswolds A 1968 Lamborghini Miura S And Some Of Britains Best B-Roads Petrolicious
    ah the Mirua

    you're absolutely right

my uncle had one, it was yellow

however a very very very close second has to be

    Undoubtedly the Miura
We used to live a few doors away from Rod Stewart and Britt Ekland in the 70s ....he took me for a ride in his white one
my other contender would be the Ferrari Dino

^ That particular DS has been here ........it's a 2.3 Pallas Chapron .Only 5 Chaprons were made and only one is Blue with a cream Ivory interior ....the other is black. It lives in Monte Carlo now.
    I've sat in that car.
There are a few more convertibles but they are retro -converted not original bespoke coachbuilt ........they never look quite the same .
It is a stunning piece of Automotive Art.

Dino was the most beautiful Ferrari named after Enzo's young son who died in a plane accident however the car was small with a 2.4 v6 engine .The Boss Ferrari has to be the Daytona Convertible with it's V12 or the 288GTO as owned by Nick Mason .....usually seen competing at Goodwood Festival in the capable hands of his wife .

My dad had one of these when I was growing up and it was truly awful if I recall - even then it was very antiquated.
Yes, my uncle’s one needed a walking stick jammed through the driver’s door handle to keep it closed because the bodywork was flexible and it would pop open otherwise! Among other faults…

    But it *looked* beautiful :).

Was going to suggest the DS Decapotable - but someone got there earlier. Always liked the big DS with the later headlamp shape:

But did we say it had to be a road car ? if not, then:

(or indeed...any other Group C racer type thing :) )

Both stunning lookers - hard to believe these are over 60 years old, they look like concept cars
Over 80 years old. And yes I agree, they've aged impossibly well

I'm not really into cars but I have a soft spot for these boxy old beamers, probably from playing with toy versions of them as a child in the 80s

1973 Corvette Stingray C3 in yellow or mustard gold, no other colour is acceptable, although I might take a red one if offered.

  • Obviously it's the 1989 Batmobile. But if we're doing "real cars" then in particularly order:

(Yes I was 10 years old in 1995...)

And one older one that you muppets seem to have forgotten

  • @axisus @brize my dad has a 3000 mk2 in black. It's a lovely thing. The seating position isn't too bad in the front though in the back you're absolutely sitting on it rather than in it. Either way there's zero roll protection so you're buggered if you crash it...!

Some good suggestions, surprised no one has mentioned the Ferrari 250 GTO, but most of the 50s Ferrari's are works of art:

Always looks great on screen, but never seen one up close: Bristol 405

    Some lovely looking cars!

I think those modern takes on the classic 911s look great. The perfect balance of modern and classic. Can't think what the company is called now?
There are loads, but I'll wager you're thinking of Singer.

I can't be doing with all those modern cars personally. For me I'd go Austin Healey 3000, and this colour scheme:

That is stunning.  I saw one in British Racing Green that looked great, but colour scheme tops that even.
