Must be cheaper at RB, all they do is get Horner to blow hot air down a subway.....

…..and thus far, it seems to be the best solution. Saves money so they can spend more on, say, hospitality, too!

It does seem effective, it has to be said..... :(

Specifically on the DRS gain RB must be doing something very clever - which is part of the appeal of the sport (however much I am an RB anti-fan :-) )

But it is also a staggeringly 'sorted' looking car so.it seems they most got a lot right. Hopefully (for them) there isn't a drivetrain issue lurking beneath.

Anyone else noticed how glued down the Ferrari looks through the corners? Tight lines aplenty.
    Red ones are better.

I still think RB are benefitting from having the only current car designer who was involved in the first iteration of Ground Effect aero and indeed wrote his thesis on that phenomena iirc

Yep Newey is a master of aerodynamics, I guess that's why RB pay the big bucks. And then keep him off the books ;)

In other news, that massive c**t Piquet is reaping his just rewards, prick.

Newey’s a wizard. His book “How to Build a Car” is well worth a read if you’re interested.

Villeneuve’s old manager is giving Rich Energy Guy a run for his money in the ‘desperate clickbait attempt at relevancy’ stakes.

I had to go out so missed Q2 & Q3. Are Merc that close to Max on genuine pace? Perhaps all is not lost!

It's impressive but puts Merc in a bit of a spot. If they change direction with a new car will it put them back behind the others? Will they sacrifice this season to get next year started?

In other news I see motorsport.com isn’t letting you read articles without disabling Adblock, so I guess I’m not reading motorsport.com any more.

Who else is good for motorsport news? I read Racefans already but aware of other that aren’t mostly garbage

My vpn filters out ads without triggering warnings on some sites and motorsport.com works a treat for me.

  • Good quali session, i enjoyed that! Having that threat of rain meant nobody was chilling out in the pits til the last minute; i guess the fans got their money's worth!

Disappointed Alonso didn't manage to hook it up on Q3 but great to see the Mercs back at the pointy end.

Fair play to the Merc boys, they did a great job, there! Bit topsy turvey which made for a decent viewing. WTF happened with Perez? That was weird. The Maccas need to do some serious work or they’ll be also-rans, despite Lando’s effort.

Brake balance technical malfunction according to Perez: “It's something that is moving the brake balance quite far forwards on the braking.”

Red Bull are having a look at it.

Blimey, there's a lot happening plus the red flag to help Lewis.

Urgh how do they still have tyre changes allowed under red flag??

It does seem a bit random. Maybe it's to allow for the fact that often a red flag will mean carnage and detritus on track so it's safer than multiple cars having damaged tyres ?

Yeah. I just can’t help feeling a tweak that says they can change but only to the same tyre, or that it doesn’t count for their mandatory pit stop would be fairer. Though I’m sure that would throw up some other issue as well.

Fairly moot today since George exploded shortly after the first restart
