To summarise the evidence of Jarnail Singh (POL lawyer) so far this morning ...

    "I don't recall that, I wasn't aware".

He's being crucified.  He doesn't deserve such an easy exit.
"You weren't a details man, were you?"

I'm watching Singh's grilling by Jason Beer on catchup.  I thought Van Den Bogerd had already achieved an unassailable nadir when it came to a performance under cross-examination, but my word... Singh is getting taken apart by Beer.  An absolutely shambolic and totally unconvincing appearance.

"You were covering up your own guilty knowledge Mr Singh" - ouch.

"I wasn't aware" will be his epitaph.

    * EDIT - "In 2010, I didn't know how to save a document on my computer."

Was amnesia a job requirement for senior POL management back then?
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

I think 'being a venal, mendacious cnut' may well have been.

So Mark Davies got grilled today - Former public relations officer

'He is asked if he ever considered the possibility that the Post Office were the baddies'

In a round about way it is the obvious question I would have asked many times, to those who have been questioned in the inquiry

Did the PO not think it unusual that they had effectively 'employed/sub-contracted' out over '400 criminals' - Did the PO think that was not unusual - In effect who was tasked to check the 'credibility' of these 'criminals' as/when they undertook the appropriate posts as 'sub postmasters'  - How many would they expect to be 'rogue' - 5/10 maybe - But surely they would not to hand the keys to over 400 rogue sub postmasters - Did that not raise any thoughts

Interesting to note that Davies said reports were submitted, as required, to government ministers - Inc Jo Swinson - I dare say we'll never get to know how much further than the 'immediate' postal affairs ministers, that questions were asked and matters raised - Be it under the Blair government or Cameron etc

Looks like Paula Vennels will be quizzed next week

Given her strong Christian beliefs and morals, I expect her to admit full responsibility, to defend her exec as only carrying out her orders and to ask to be taken out back and flogged.  Following which she will donate all her earthly possessions to those that were wronged, and undertake to do unpaid community work for the rest of her natural life.

Either that, or she’ll not be able to remember, will say that she relied on the advice and guidance of experts, and repeat “if only I’d known that at the time”.

    Place your bets now …
