    Women’s cycling was great.  Finally 2 get joined by another 2 at 5km from the line, and instead of fighting all the way, 3 of them let the American lady go?!  And just cycle slowly for ages to sprint the Silver medal!?

    Men's 100m final was a belter ... fair play to Lyles ... he prevailed on the biggest stage, under immense pressure and backed up his boasts and bravado.

    Preceded by Mondo and Faith Kipyegon in the 5k ... top drawer!

    I predict Lyles WILL get 3 golds and be the golden boy of track & field ... the sport needs him!

    Maybe she was prevented from interfering in the cross beam event.

    It was spoken, as I remember, on an MSN newsfeed, and no, it was not in the sense of 'meddle.'

    There's quite a lot going on that even the younger, fitter me would have been very bad at. But it's a good spectator sport that doesn't require much knowledge of the sport to understand what is going on.

    I'm a lifelong fan of athletics and I still maintain that auntie Beeb has the most appropriate commentators ... BUT the way the Beeb hypes-up a Brit is all wrong.
    Coupled with the psycho-babble studio stuff and the multi-channel changes, I'm well pissed off with the whole BBC format right now.

    Coleman, Pickering, Storey, Dickinson defined the standard for athletics commentary and that's all we need now.
