I just doubled down on the Fryette power station
I've got two so they run the backline in stereo
Sounds proper big
I did cable tie a humdinger to my board to give me an isolated output and a phase switch but I probably don't need it
So my setup is 1/4 bypassing the cab block into 2 power stations and then into 2 1x12s
2 XLRs into the desk with a dual cab block
It's breathtaking at full chat ...

I added a Source Audio Reflex to my Helix.

That, right there, is a pretty astounding combination.

I'm certainly hoping that in five years time a Helix Mk1 is worth washers, because I think the tech will still be way beyond what I need so picking one up for cheapness would be nice

That's the main thing. If it sounds good, then so what about future releases. I gigged a Bass Pod XT Pro for years and loved it, I still use a guitar bean version in the house. Technically obsolete, yet still sound good for what I want.

I'll still keep my bean XT when the Helix arrives!

If I hadn't been talked into the "necessity" of having a pedals and amp setup to be taken seriously as a pedalmaker I'd probably still have my VG-88. The Helix will likely last me a good 5 years, quite possibly 10. I'm not very cork-sniffy about sounds so even if Helix 2 is widely regarded as having tone for several more days that won't be much of a draw for me.

A bit more on the control side would be nice - basically copying the GT-100 approach with internal LFOs and envelope and pattern generators would be handy.

I've been playing a bit more with odd but usable sounds. Made a nice modulated gated reverb and a really lovely chorus with a modulated twin pitch shifter. The Source Audio Reflex really does open the Helix up. Marvellous combination.
