Has anyone found a decent bag that isn't the expensive Line 6 bag? Thanks. :)

Yep, I've just bought one of them! It's a tad snug but it works. The outside pockets are good too.

The yard is nothing but a fence, the sun just hurts my eyes...

If anyone else is looking for a case I use one of these https://www.thomann.de/gb/thomann_effect_pedal_bag.htm

Cheaper than the Novation bag (if you are already buying something from Thomann, else you need to consider the cost of shipping). I've been using it with my Helix for several months.

I think that I must have bought this for my old Line6 500HD so I've had it for quite some time.

  • Thinking of a Stomp for silent playing at home with headphones. Seems it’s *almost* as good as an Iridium for the Deluxe amp model.

Anyway - what’s the looper like? And I know the pitch shifting isn’t great at the mo, but it seems above that they’re making moves towards improving that?

I’m basically thinking it’d be handy as a stop gap for effects I don’t have/don’t use much...

Very nice mate. So the looper works like a Mini Ditto in this config - is that the only way or can you program the other two switches to act as stop/play etc?

Can you have more than one set of loops for different song sections...?

  • I really like that Revv Generator Red channel amp model. Spent a bit of time with it yesterday and I think it's my favourite high-gain model on there now.

    Bye!

More of this sort of thing please - exactly the sorts of sounds I was wondering if I could get from my HX FX. Question is whether it's worth buying the guy's patches. Suppose it's alot cheaper than a Red Panda pedal...

  • @colourofsound so yes it's basically a ditto. Nothing smart about it but it's useful! Shorter recording time than a ditto. And it's one button only on the stomp, I think the helix has a larger set of options. Sorry I didn't respond earlier!

No way to save the loops or anything so song sections wouldn't be an option

Got a Helix for Xmas off the Mrs.

It's very different to my Kemper.  Do they need work to sound their best?

Its stock, I haven't had a great deal of time with it yet.

    Playing it through a DXR.

  • @andy1839 it's worth watching a few dialling in videos.

Here's one that may help a bit

I dont know if there's an obvious reason for this or not, but I haven't a clue why it happened.

I was all set to take the Helix back, I absolutely hated it. Couldn't get a decent sound out of it at all.

I was plugged into a DXR12, XLR to XLR.

Then this morning I used a normal guitar cable, mono to mono and it sounded better.
Then used two cables to go stereo to stereo, even though it's a single speaker the things sounds much better now.

    Still not 100% on it.

Can't get a decent whammy effect that returns to the same tone each time. Seems a bit hit and miss.

I haven't even started with IRs yet.  It seems like there's a definite steeper learning curve to it than the Kemper.

@andy1839 yeh there's a definite learning curve. I had the Hx stomp for nearly a year before I felt like I was getting good stuff out of it

Potentially but HX Edit is really easy to use I find. Never tried the Kemper one though.

Check your XLR/1/4 inch outputs as one is set differently than the other..

It's very fiddly and basic. You can't input numbers and you have to faff about with the mouse and it's very exact. Waited for years for it, used it twice.
