My neighbour has a load of 20ft by 5ft corrugated metal sheets on his flat garage roof. Not tied down at all.

One by one they are landing in my garden.

I am not going out to try to make them safer - if one comes down when I'm out there - that's decapitation risk.

I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd

    Elsewhere in Swindon:

If the house and car are owned by the same person, does that make this better or worse?

    nightmare either way I guess
    Red ones are better.

I was quite surprised to get up this morning and see the red warning had been extended to London and the SE.  It's certainly noisy out there, but it was bright and sunny until a few minutes ago, it's just clouded over.

actually, knowing the street, that car is parked double yellows - wonder if that'll affect the insurance...

Oh yeah, it's extremely windy in South London too, but no rain or anything.  In fact the sun's just come out again.  Every now and then there's a creak or a bang outside which is a bit alarming, but I don't think any bits of my house have fallen off yet.

  • Life is hard here on Hadrians Wall. Sun is shining, and the breeze is blasting along the Wall at all of 7mph.
To be honest, we're not due for strong winds (40 mph or so)  until the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Not hit Lancashire yet. But my weather app (Dark Sky) has changed its mind.  Gusts of up to 61 but only for an hour. We had gusts of 57 on Tuesday so hopefully won’t be much worse than that.

Hope everyone else is ok and not too much property damage. That picture of the collapsed wall in Swindon is one of my worst nightmares from these storms.

still worse here than pre 11am  -   I was "worried" that it was all delayed by 2 or 3 hours............. but the met office have removed the red-alert - so we're on Amber now  -  Im seeing posts from FB friends further down the coast (Clevedon / WSM / Minehead)  sill being hit bad

what is "odd" ,  we've no warnings for Sunday and Monday - but the forecast gusts are consistently higher than those forecast for Saturday,  where we have a yellow alert
