It’s pretty windy here in Dorking. Just walked up to the High Street and it’s deserted. Most of the shops have shut.

Next door but one been having scaffolding put up all morning. Guys doing it don’t look happy at all.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

1000 Car ferry sailing from IOW to Portsmouth dropped anchor in the middle of the Solent, to wait out the storm, still there with passengers aboard, which is nice! Begs the question why it sailed.
Brittany Ferry sheltering in Sandown Bay
Power outages, walls and trees down
    All ferries and buses suspended
Tesco Superstore closed as part of the roof has come off
Coastal flooding at Yarmouth and Cowes

We started getting strong gusts about 11 here in Kent. The neighbour’s summerhouse (basically a glorified shed with a verandah) got lifted off its base and wrecked around an hour ago.

still worse here than pre 11am  -   I was "worried" that it was all delayed by 2 or 3 hours............. but the met office have removed the red-alert - so we're on Amber now  -  Im seeing posts from FB friends further down the coast (Clevedon / WSM / Minehead)  sill being hit bad

what is "odd" ,  we've no warnings for Sunday and Monday - but the forecast gusts are consistently higher than those forecast for Saturday,  where we have a yellow alert

    "wow"!

  • Gusty all morning here in Wokingham - forecast said it would be low 70s and at times it has definitely felt like that. The old garden fence has been having a tough day :#

No power here in mid-Wales, and no real prospect of getting it back on today apparently.
I'd set today aside to record drum tracks too...

Very violent gusts here is South Glozzershire.  Lots of trees down.  Schools shut, businesses closed, everyone hunkering down.  It was supposed to have quietened down by now but not much sign of that yet.

The red warning for my area has ended but it's as blowy as ever. There seems to be buggerall difference between red warning wind and amber warning wind.

I don't like windy weather. You can't see it, you can't smell it, it just comes at you with no consideration at all and not much in the way of a warning unless you're looking at the weather forecast.
