Notice that PM has the two vocalists either side masking his voice to hit the highs. Also what was the pretence in pretending to play that riff on the Les Paul.

    Ian

Lowering my expectations has succeeded beyond my wildest dreams.

I think Paul McCartney is unbelievable. Playing the longest set of the weekend at an age where many can’t even wipe their own arse. His voice might not be as strong but come on, this is impressive.

BBC won't show Macca live, that's a bit crap.
    It is.

Or, it’s an opportunity to watch the Plant/Krauss set again.
Some online saying it's paul himself won't let it air live.
Basically it was stipulated in his contract that his people had to edit the broadcast mix and for it to be approved. And this has been a massive issue for the sound and broadcast engineers at the BBC.

Fair play to Paul.  Still loves the music.  Hope I’m still rocking at 80.  Sounds better as the set has gone on and they have pushed the vocal up.  Seeing him in the Beatles documentary I realised what a musical force he is.  Not quite what he was but who is?  Playing Blackbird to tens of thousands of people at Glastonbury in the dead of night, that’s cool.

I'm in a Whatsapp group with a bunch of friends who may or may not be said broadcast engineers. Allegedly.

Recommend Adrienne Lenker's solo stuff too.
I’ve just watched the whole set, best act I’ve seen so far I think including crowded house!
Big Thief are fantastic. UFOF is a masterpiece.
Adrienne playing the solo on Not in a finger picking style. Possibly the first time I've seen that.

The constant factor this Glastonbury has been bloody awful desk to broadcast audio from the BBC. It has been atrocious to the point of amateurish.

Macca was ok- but respect needed for his age, so better than ok.

Crowded House were exquisite as you’d expect.

Actually thought Dom (Yungblud) did great. You might dislike Justin and Rick but he’s a good kid if eccentric and loud!

    I saw her standing there.

I was prepared for Macca being awful but it was actually a great set. Yes, he struggled hitting certain notes but he’s written so many iconic and enduring songs that I forgive him. Thought Golden Slumbers and Maybe I’m Amazed were excellent, but surprised he didn’t do Long and Winding Road.

The sound mix on tv has been pretty dreadful for most of the weekend. I thought it was me (my ears are shot) but I’ve seen loads of complaints.

They were awesome. She can definitely play and her voice is haunting.

I love the sound of those Magnatone amps too.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

Crowded House still the best for me.

Macca’s set not on Iplayer. I guess it’ll never be seen again. I imagine him having control of it was a big part of the deal.

Yep, he’s  a year older than my Dad, and he can barely make to the paper shop without calling an Ambulance….all we kept saying throughout Macca’s set was ‘He’s bloody 80’ I’m not being flippant but remembering all those lyrics, the Les Paul slung across his back, the vocals, the length of just being on his feet…..I know he’s not had a heavy paper-round and gets the best private medical treatment money can buy (just like the Queen) but hats off to him! <3

There are plenty of torrents up already. If you want to see it, it's pretty easy to get hold of.
