I used to dream of having one of these in my late teens.
All left hand drive though I believe.
Would still have been much cooler than the golfs gti's, XR3i's etc. going round at the time.

A guy I worked with had a Delta HF. It was only 12 months old but bits used to fall off at random intervals.

Yep, mate of mine had an HF Turbo in the early '90s.  Looked great in red and was quick, but he always had a bit of it in his hand.

The back end is just wrong....SWB every time
I'm more of a Lusso fan.  They're both wonderful but in the words of Yngwie: "more is more".

  • Yeah, it's all about the GT SWB Berlinetta. The Lusso always looked like someone smudged the rear 3/4 with their hand while they were drawing it...

My old M5 - when I sold it, I had trouble getting £6500 for it from a dealer. I last saw it advertised at £50,000.

That's actually quite a beautiful design. Loads of glass area, and just a really, really elegant shape - there's not a single line out of place on it anywhere (imo of course..)

    Jaguar XJ-C

When I was a kid, my Dad always wanted one of these and he had a friend who had one. He took me out for a drive in it once because I was always on at him to look at the engine. I just remember the swathes of leather, walnut and the push in the back as he accelerated away from the lights. Exhilerating!

We also had a Dinky toy model of this in red with black roof and my sister and I would fight over who "drove" the Jaguar (round the carpet on our hands and knees).

To this day, to me, this is the most handsome and pretty executive car ever made.

Effortlessly elegant. IIRC, it was Lyons' favourite of all the Jags. Made a bit more butch for Steed, before Leyland tried to take it racing! :-o

Would love a well-sorted XJ12C, but all that plumbing under the bonnet gives me the willies. Stick the Toyota 1UZ in there, cover it in Waxoil, and I'd be happy.

Sold it for £14000 many years ago .
If I only knew what I know now
Ouch! I’ve had my MGA 30 years, and I would imagine it’s still not worth £14k. I quite often drive it through Hadley Wood.
    Are you fairly local?
