Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!
Dear Points Of Views
Watching the program on BBC4 about the Rosetta project. Doctor Taylor just described it as a 'sexy' mission - is there anything that man won't degrade with his wild lusting loins?
WTF????? - He's now wearing a shirt with what I can only describe as provocative flowers on, the man is clearly a twisted pervert in need of help.
He's on a TV channel I pay for and not only is he not wearing a suit, he's not even attempting to talk with a posh accent. Are we not supposed to take this seriously?
I am fucking outraged.
Yours,
Constance O'Fended
How to deal woht it, do I :-
A) Kick telly screen hard enough to destroy it.
Bleach my eyees for fear of seeing any shit shirts.
C) Kill myself quickly to be certain my mind will not be infected.
or
D) Nuke it from sapce as it is the only way to be sure.
Ahem yes Sky at night on BBC 4 has a 1 hour special on it all showing now (sans shirt row of course) and soon to appear on iPlayer for those wot have missed it.
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself
Okay...
The answer is: being trolled by an amateur.
I think it's fair to say most people who are intolerant are socially awkward and it gives them a reason to speak.
It's good that they want to speak, it's bad they want to have an unreasonable degree of certainty in what they're saying - that's not a conversation, it's sermonising.
Now I believe that we're seeing a change in culture, pattern recognition is a basic human trait, in fact I think it's what we do best - by the age of 40 most human beings can see the mistakes they repeatedly make, I believe in martial arts and playing the guitar - I'm best off banging my head against particular techniques - as trying to learn the patterns didn't result in good technique it ended in intellectualism.
So patterns ... we're seeing patterns on facebook repeatedly played at us, intolerance - religious, sexual equality, racial equality and on both sides. These behaviours create responses and the leaders and right-thinkers regularly hop on these threads and introduce spontaneous reactions ... which people take and use themselves ... soon these statements are used so much they've become a sort of religious relic in their own right -- at that point any venom in the statement becomes clear and it's adopted by the intolerant... the only way to avoid seeing your words turned against you is to ensure they're meaningful but without blame.
I think in the next ten years we'll be more interested in mental health. And extremism will begin to be treated with socialising people and sports
Very well put, have a wis.
The thing is, if you go to a class and do exercise, you work out get knackered, feel inadequate then look around and everyone else is feeling exactly the same - which given you've been looking att hem and thinking they're doing really well - means I rethink my inadequacy - I end up feeling okay - not perfect (which is an important thing) - but okay with what I'm doing.
The other thing is that "that shalt nots" come from a static mindset, these people believe in an inherant state of correctness, which they occasionally admit to not meeting (at quiet times when there's noone to shame for not meeting them). These people live life defending a view point for fear that they'll be over-run.
A growth mindset is a much harder thing to bring down, it's not defined by achievement it's defined by growing and improving and accepting and changing, it's not going to get over-run because it's not stopping still it's fluid and it's fueled by joy.
After 10 burpees I'll feel out of breath, a bit achey and really chuffed I made good on a promise, I'm toying with the idea that keeping promises is a really good habit.. I want to see how useful it is.
