I got up before 11.00 (that's early for me on a Saturday, shoot me down) so I could hear Fighting Talk on 5 Live... I really wanted to hear how distraught Rick Edwards would be about Klopp.  Or more likely, to learn how early they pre-record the show because there'd be no mention of Klopp at all...

And Fighting Talk wasn't on!  Due to the Australian Open tennis.  Bah.

No, couldn't do it.  I had already been woken once by a friend WhatsApping at 8.30, I did manage to get back to sleep after that.

Looks like none league Maidstone United have turned Ipswich over 2-1.

  • Will miss Klopp, certainly enjoyed his little fisticuff with Arteta last season! Glad he got the time to build his team eventually winning the league and CL.

Back to Arsenal land, Partey back in training, is it coincidence he's back as soon as Ghana got knocked out of AFCON? Or was there an agreement for us not to play him during their time in the competition? Hope the boss doesn't play him at RB and try him as an inverted-full back. It doesn't work with him as he's not the right player. We all want the Rice - Partey - Odegaard combination in midfield.

BTW, a Scouse chum of mine says that Klippety has been seen going in and out of Broadgreen Hospital.  Can't vouch for the veracity of that info but it might explain last week's news if true :-(

Watched the highlights on the BBC.

Its basically five and a half minutes of Ipswich missing absolutely glorious opportunites and then ten seconds of Maidstone scoring twice. Love it.

Well done big George. He's got his eye on Wolves at the Mol next round. That would be some game, he would get a hero's welcome.

Watching it on MOTD seems almost unbelievable that Ipswich couldn’t get a win. Although the Maidstone goals weren’t just flukes and the Maidstone keeper played what must have been the game of his life.

Game stopped after wolves 2nd goal because of fans fighting each other and the Police in two ends of the ground.
Wolves fans getting in to the West Brom stand.
